The Progressive Conservative Party of Manitoba is pleased to announce that nominations have recently closed for the new constituency of Borderland and that a contested nomination meeting will take place on Thursday April 11th to choose the Progressive Conservative candidate for Borderland in the next general election.
The four nomination contestants are (in alphabetical order):
- Josh Guenter is a long-haul transport driver and former assistant for a local MP and MLA;
- Verna Heinrichs currently serves as a member of the Manitoba Women’s Advisory Council and has professional expertise in agribusiness, trade, and environment;
- Liz Hildebrand is manager with a non-profit youth business education organization, and previously served as assistant for a local MLA;
- Jordan Siemens is a current Councillor for the Town of Altona, and agricultural specialist & young farmer.
The nomination meeting will take place at the Millennium Exhibition Centre located at 227 10th Avenue NW in Altona MB. Registration and voting commence from 4:30 PM to 7:00 PM. Speeches will begin at 7:15 PM and voting will open again after speeches. The guest speaker will be the Honourable Brian Pallister. The winning candidate will be announced that evening.
Residents of the new Borderland constituency who wish to cast a ballot at the Progressive Conservative nomination meeting must have purchased a valid PC Manitoba membership and be of good standing as of March 27th.
