Will carry PC banner in new constituency: Pallister
The Progressive Conservative Party of Manitoba is pleased to announce Michelle Richard as a nominated candidate for the next provincial election after securing the party’s nomination in the new constituency of St. James.
“Michelle has extensive planning and economic development experience in addition to being an active community volunteer,” said PC Party Leader Brian Pallister. “Her strong record of community service makes her the best choice to represent the new constituency of St. James. I look forward to working with her as we build a winning team that will continue to earn the trust of Manitobans in the next provincial election.”
A registered urban planner, Michelle has over 20 years of planning and economic development experience in both private practice and with municipal, provincial and First Nations governments. Michelle, who holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Master of City Planning degree from the University of Manitoba, is currently partner at a local community planning, land use design and development firm. She is also a sought-after public speaker both locally and nationally on a variety of urban planning topics.
The PC Party of Manitoba candidate nomination process is well underway across the province. Michelle’s nomination brings the total of nominated PC candidates to 46.
“We are building a winning team that reflects the values of Manitobans and our vision for a stronger, more prosperous province,” Pallister said.
The December 2018 report of the independent Electoral Divisions Boundaries Commission made significant changes to the existing electoral boundaries. As a result, founding meetings for new or redrawn constituencies may be required prior to, or in some cases, in conjunction with nomination meetings. The PC Party of Manitoba will finalize its nomination process in the coming weeks.
