Ending Unrestricted Night Hunting
Our PC Government and our Leader Brian Pallister are taking steps to restrict the unsafe and often cruel practice of night hunting.
We have seen deaths, serious injuries and far too many close calls as a result of unsafe night hunting practices in Manitoba.
We know blinding an animal in the dead of the night for the purpose of an easy kill is not ethical, safe or sustainable.
Our proposed legislation takes into account and respects the constitutionally protected right of Indigenous hunting at night, while balancing the priorities of public safety, ethical treatment of animals and conservation.
Our bill also help ensure the sustainability of Manitoba’s big game population - night hunting will only be allowed if the hunt does not threaten the viability of the species being hunted.
We have heard nothing but silence from Wab Kinew and the NDP. They clearly oppose these important changes.
