Ron Evans believes that leadership encompasses the fullness of human experience from practical every-day work and caring for the family; to strengthening community and a sense of belonging; as well as to our spiritual connection to the created world.
Ron is committed to community and economic development and has long been a champion for the protection and sustainability of lands and resources.
An accomplished leader, Ron is credited with numerous major accomplishments for both for the Norway House Cree Nation as well as on First Nations issues provincially and nationally.
Ron’s advice and counsel is valued when addressing issues in areas such as security, health, education, justice, economic development, mining, fisheries, First Nations governance and current social issues.
Ron is a former Chief of Norway House Cree Nation and a former Grand Chief of the Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs. an ordained Deacon and Priest with the Anglican Church of Canada and a licensed commercial fisherman. Ron is married to Betsy. They have 3 children, 17 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He is proud to be running as part of the PC Team to help build a better future for the people of The Pas-Kameesak.
