Michelle Richard has never met a challenge she doesn’t like. With over 20 years of experience in community planning and economic development, she is eager to take on a new challenge putting her experience to work as the next MLA for St. James.
Michelle grew up in Northern Manitoba, where she learned the values of community and hard work. She is a graduate of the University of Manitoba, holding a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Studies and a Master’s Degree in City Planning. Since 2014, Michelle has been a small business owner and Partner in a local planning and development firm. Over the course of her career, she has also served as Director of Campus Planning and Real Estate at the University of Manitoba, as a Long Range Planner with the City of Winnipeg, a Policy Analyst for the Government of Manitoba, and as an Economic Development Officer in the City of Flin Flon and surrounding area.
Michelle strongly believes in giving back to her community and her profession. She has a long history as a volunteer with the Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce and as a mentor to young professionals in the University of Manitoba’s City Planning program.
Michelle has called Winnipeg home for 20 years and is steadfastly supported by her partner John and daughter Madison. Michelle is excited to be running to serve the people of St. James as part of a strong, united PC team that is getting results for Manitoba families.
