The Tiger Dam whistleblower wrote to NDP Leader Greg Selinger, appealing to him “to call in the RCMP to conduct an independent investigation.” Selinger ignored the request.
“Serious questions remain regarding the involvement of senior members of the NDP cabinet and the premier himself in the Tiger Dams scandal,” said Heather Stefanson, PC Deputy Leader and candidate for Tuxedo. “The original whistleblower who exposed this scandal made an appeal to the premier to get answers by calling in the RCMP. Selinger must explain today why he ignored that appeal.”
Despite a fear of reprisals, the public-sector employee who blew the whistle on the NDP Tiger Dams scandal contacted Selinger in January. In his letter the whistleblower wrote, “At worst, the relationships and financial connections could suggest bribery or a conspiracy to commit fraud or break of public trust,” and, “I am appealing to you to call in the RCMP to conduct an independent investigation.”
Selinger did nothing.
In frustration, the whistleblower reached out to the PC Team earlier this month to request our help.
We have given the whistleblower contact information for the RCMP Serious and Organized Crime Unit that we provided information to last fall to assist the ongoing RCMP probe into Tiger Dam scandal.
Today, we ask Selinger to explain why he ignored this request for an independent RCMP investigation. Why continue the cover-up?
