On Wednesday, October 22 you will have a chance to exercise your democratic rights and help select your municipal government. It’s a chance to decide what mayor, reeve council and school trustees will lead your community for the next four years.
If you’ve voted in advanced polls; thank you. If you have yet to vote I encourage you to invest the time in your community tomorrow.
Democracy is about freedom, but even freedom comes with responsibility. Citizens need to participate to not only make democracy work, but to preserve it for future generations.
Many dedicated people have put their names forward as candidates in municipal elections this week and others have invested of their time and energy seeking to serve as school trustees. I commend those who’ve put their name on a ballot.
We can and must support their efforts by making a small investment of time in the future of our communities. Please get out and vote.
