On April 12, 2008, our Leader, Hugh McFadyen launched a comprehensive policy review and development process to guide the future of our Party and Manitoba. Our milestones are laid out below.
Create Policy Advisory Councils ("PACs"), to drive policy research in the following areas: Economic Opportunity; Safety and Security; Environment; Health, Educationand Social Services; and Democratic Reform. PACs will submit policy research to the central Party office for distribution to members.
Each member is encouraged to review the research and meet with their local constituency association. At these constituency meetings, occuring this fall, preliminary policy resolutions will be drafted by our members. Regional forums will also be held across the province to help focus the discussion and debate at the constituency level. Please scroll down to review policy documents!
Constituency associations are to submit all of their proposed resolutions to the Party Headquarters no later than Friday, October 2, 2009, and select delegates for the policy convention.
The Policy Conference will be held at the 2009 Annual General Meeting. At this conference, delegates from across the province will have the responsibility of approving and voting on policy that will comprise our Policy Declaration.
