PC MLA Schuler Returns to Ukraine as Observer - Progressive Conservative Party of Manitoba

Democracy is too important to not send observers to Ukraine for pivotal election: Schuler

Progressive Conservative Tourism, Culture and Heritage Critic Ron Schuler has been chosen to represent Canada as an Election Observer in Ukraine. He will depart on October 18 for the upcoming Ukrainian Parliamentary Elections. This is the second election in Ukraine that Schuler will take part in on behalf of Canada.

“It's an honour to have been chosen again for deployment in Ukraine and to represent our great nation as an Election Observer. I look forward to building on what we accomplished in May, and to continue representing the ideals Canada stands for; rule of law, freedom, and democracy, as well as continue to ensure Ukrainians have their voices heard." Schuler said. "It's a proud day for Ukrainians in Manitoba, and shows what a difference our voices make."

PC Caucus and Schuler stood with Ukraine and the Ukrainian community over the last year, joining with all of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba in support of a resolution affirming that stand. We strongly condemn all violence and anti-democratic acts both in Ukraine and perpetrated against Ukraine. We fought in the Legislature for the removal of all Russian-produced products from the shelves of Manitoba Liquor and Lotteries stores, and the suspension of the sale of Russian-produced products until the international crisis in Ukraine is resolved.

We are proud to be honoured by the Canadian Government for the second time as they recognize PC Caucus and Schuler's commitment to stand with Ukraine.
