Arriving in 1986 and planning only to stay for a short work term, Andrew Frank has now called Winnipeg his home for the past 30 years while building a successful career and raising his family.
Andrew graduated from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Public Administration. His first career was in sales, working in the agriculture and construction sectors. In 1991, he helped found Vista Medical, a company specializing in the design and manufacturing of high-tech sensors for a variety of healthcare applications. He currently serves as Vista Medical’s Chief Operating Officer, overseeing the company’s activities in over 30 countries around the world.
Andrew believes in giving back to his community has been an active volunteer in the Concordia area. For 5 years he served as the Winnipeg Harvest Foodbank Coordinator for the East Winnipeg Foodbank, helping those who found themselves facing tough times. He also served as a board member for The Kings School, an area school with an active program helping refugees and new Canadians as they settle in Manitoba. Andrew has also enjoyed getting to know his neighbours and their families as the coach of his youngest son’s flag football team.
Andrew was raised on a dairy farm in Wisconsin where he learned the value of hard work, service to community, a strong faith, and the importance of valuing everyone in society. He is married to Elizabeth and together they are the proud parents of two sons. Andrew is running in this election to address the many failures of the current NDP government. A stronger education system, real progress on reducing ER wait times, and providing much needed tax relief to those who need it most are Andrew’s priorities as the next MLA for Concordia.
