Biography:
Len Derkach has served the people of Russell as MLA since 1986. With more than 20 years of experience advocating for the constituency, he continues to work for positive change in Manitoba.
He is a graduate of Brandon University and has been active in the education system as a teacher and vice-principal. Later in life, he started a farming business and later ventured into politics.
Under the Filmon government, Len served as Minister of numerous different portfolios, including Education and Rural Development. Sports play a major role in Len's life and he's a huge fan of hockey, snowshoeing, water skiing, boating and fishing.
Along with his wife Margie and their three sons, Len still operates a cattle and grain business. Together, his family is very active in their church and community.
