Within the next two weeks, a motion will be put before the Manitoba Legislature on whether the government should issue refunds to the thousands of motorists who were improperly ticketed for driving at or below the regular posted speed limit in construction zones where no workers were present and no safety was compromised.

One year ago, Progressive Conservative MLA for Minnedosa Leanne Rowat asked the NDP to explain a moratorium on the Addictions Foundation of Manitoba’s (AFM) school-based counseling program because of a provincial funding shortfall. Today - nothing has changed and the moratorium is still in place. Rowat says it means many students in rural Manitoba are not getting the drug and alcohol education they need.
